Follow these steps for a good trip

1 - Before all people step on board, put the two black self-bailers in the hole in the floor. Do this exactly; otherwise you will get wet feet ;)

2 - Disconnect the charging cable from the charger and the socket in the boat, put it rolled up in the boat’s rear hatch.

3 - You can find the cushions in the rear hatch of the boat, the back seat opens with a code you can find in your booking confirmation e-mail. These cushions also float if needed for emergencies.

4 - You can start and stop the boat via the link that you received by SMS. Choose the number of the boat you want to sail with and start your trip!

5 - When you arrive back at the dock, lease moor the boat in a just way. Put the cushion back in the cabin and plug the charger back in.

 

Extra information

Boat slows down
When you have plastic in your propellor, please put the gear in forward and reverse for a few time. Most of the times, the plastic will come loose.

Lifejackets
For our smallest captains, we have lifejackets available. you can find two of them in the backseat of the boat.

There are a few sailing rules and signs you have to be aware of

  • Safety first! Don’t take any risks.

  • toilets at the dock, keep this in mind.

  • Respect the privacy of people alongside the canals, don’t cause any disturbance.

  • The speed limit is 6 km/h.

  • It is prohibited to drive the boat when under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

  • It’s not allowed to moor under trees, bridges or other places where there’s a sign that says you’re not allowed
    to moor.

  • There are no toilets at the dock, keep this in mind.

  • Respect the privacy of people alongside the canals, don’t cause any disturbance.

  • Give way to commercial boats (i.e. tour boats)

  • Stay clear of the IJ and the Kostverlorenvaart.

  • The Prinsengracht, Grimburgwal and Singelgracht are one-way. If you are driving in the wrong direction, you are risking a fine up to 340 euros.

  • The boat is suitable for maximum 10 persons.

  • Amplified music is prohibited on board.

BEAUTIFUL SAILING ROUTES & TIPS

Prior to the boat trip in Amsterdam city centre, you receive the sailing chart including the most important sailing rules. In addition, we have compiled a number of beautiful (must see) routes, such as the “canal route” and the “plantation route”. With both routes you experience the canals of Amsterdam, but you also sail on the Amsterdam Amstel river.

Amsterdam has many events every year that easily can be visited by boat. You can think of King’s Day, the Gay Pride, Amsterdam Light Festival and the Spiegelgracht Concert. Would you like more information about sailing during these Amsterdam events? Please contact us to rent a boat for these special days!

FOOD AND DRINKS ON BOARD

On board you are allowed to bring your own food and drinks. You can therefore make delicious snacks and drinks yourself and enjoy it on board. Before leaving you will receive a waste bag from us.

We recommend to take a look at the culinary route of Waternet for beautiful places to moor or even where special breakfast and lunch packages can be ordered on board! Of course Adam also knows the nicest routes and places to moor. So don’t hesitate to ask for tips
